Dave Bahr- Byron HS Boys Soccer Varsity head coach, is also an experienced bass tournament fisherman competing in over 200 events locally and nationally from 1976-2014. Dave is a volunteer advisor to the team and willing to share his knowledge and experience to improve the skills of the entire team. Dave lives on a lake in Rochester and invites every team member to spend a few hours on the lake to learn how to break down water, and find key structures that hold fish and how to rapidly catch them. Dave will work with team members on equipment, presentation, reading structure and lure presentation. He can also help with safely handling fresh caught fish and returning them to the water unharmed. Dave has a Masters Degree in Biology with emphasis on Aquatics and Fisheries from the University Of Wisconsin – LaCrosse and uses a science based approach to fishing.
So far this summer, Dave have gone out with 4 groups and they have caught a lot of fish and had a good time and hopefully learned something that can be useful to make each one a better fisherman. With the Fall season beginning, the hottest action could just be starting.
